Check Out This “How To” Video I Created

Check out the “how to” video I created. It’s a video tutorial on how to hyperlink text and URL’s in TrafficWave.net. I use TrafficWave as my autoresponder of choice, as you probably already know. I have created a campaign to use for promoting Ultimate List Building Tips, and because it’s a master copy, I put text instructions in several of the letters, rather than embedding my own links. In the text instruction, I tell the campaign user to remove the text, insert their link and hyperlink it. After putting that in several letters, I decided that it might be problematic for them if they don’t know how to hyperlink. So rather than leave that to chance I created the video.

This was my first time to use Camtasia 7 as my recording platform. I’m not even sure if that’s the right term. Anyway, I’ve used ScreenToaster in the past and uploaded the video to youtube. Although I haven’t tested it, I’m told that ScreenToaster was terminated. So, I looked at alternative methods. I was a bit afraid of Camtasia 7, but it was really easy to produce the video. My challenge came when I tried to upload it to youtube. After several failed attempts, I was able to get it uploaded.

So here’s the link: How To Hyperlink Text and URL’s in TrafficWave

I hope you enjoy it!

This Will Make You Smile

Well, this is a little out of the norm for what I generally share on my blog. But it was so cool that I couldn’t resist.

Just to give you a little background information on how I got to this… There was a new “opportunity” just launched by Walt Bayliss, an Internet marketer of some renown. The program is called Instant Blog Subscribers . The whole premise is to be able to connect with others through a blogging system, even if you’re a complete blogging newbie. I joined and have been posting a few things there.

I made contact with a gentleman in Thailand, who is originally from West Texas. YAY! He actually wrote some good posts, as opposed to so many people who are simply throwing sales pages up on the site. So, I visited his website and this video was on there. I was so taken by the message on the video that I wanted to share it with you too.

It’s a bit long, a little over 16 minutes. But very entertaining and enlightening. I hope that you enjoy it as much as I did. Mostly I hope you take the message from it that I took.

Enjoy!

Jim Rohn Quotes Show the Importance of a Plan

I’m sure you’ve heard something like this before:

A failure to plan is a plan to failure.

Do you have a plan in place?  Have you decided exactly where you’re going and how you’re going to get there?  I doubt seriously that you would set out on a cross-country trip without a roadmap and an itinerary.  Yet, you aspire to become a successful entrepreneur and just blindly jump into an online business.

Do you think that just because it didn’t cost you a million dollars to start your online business that planning is unimportant?  Do you think that your time and effort is not worthy of a business plan?

I ran across a couple of quotes from Jim Rohn this morning that seemed appropriate for this topic.  Just in case you don’t know Jim Rohn, he is considered America’s Foremost Business Philosopher.  The business world was saddened by his recent passing.

Here are a couple of quotes from Jim Rohn:

“If you don’t design your own life plan, chances are you’ll fall into someone else’s plan. And guess what they have planned for you? Not much.” —Jim Rohn

“The guy says, ‘When you work where I work, by the time you get home, it’s late.  You’ve got to have a bite to eat, watch a little TV, relax and get to bed. You can’t sit up half the night planning, planning, planning.’ And he’s the same guy who is behind on his car payment!” —Jim Rohn

Figure out what you want to accomplish with your online business.  Do you want to retire early?  Maybe just have extra to put a little away in savings?  Want to pay off your car note?  Or maybe live a life of luxury on your favorite golf course?  Become a stay-at-home Dad or Mom?  Or maybe you both want to work from home?

Once you’ve decided what you want your online business to do for you, decide what you want to do for it.  You need to determine how many hours you can allocate to your new home business, and when you’ll put those hours into place.  You will need to set aside some place to work.  If you have a dedicated area to work in, that’s great!  If not, you will have to carve some space out.

You want to start and stay organized.  So planning what you want your online business to do and deciding when and where you’ll actually work it, will help you plan your days and weeks.
