New Features at Ultimate Profit List

Many of you already know that Lisa McCormick and I own Ultimate Profit List, a viral list builder. In case you don’t know what a viral list builder is, let me explain briefly. Basically, a viral list builder is a safelist in that you can send solo ads and credit mailers to the membership. As you bring in referrals to the list, you are also able to reach them down 10 levels, using the credit mailers.

Here are the new features

    1. Full-page login ads
    2. Video Tutorials
    3. an updated footer with Alexa and Safelist Rankings links
    4. News & Updates
    5. Adzly ads

So, let’s delve into these further.

Full-page Login Ads Everyone who logs into the site will see full page advertising for 20 seconds.
If they stay on the page until the countdown is over, they will earn 20-50 credits, depending on their membership level. Members can log in and earn credits from full-page login ads 5 times daily. So, as an advertiser, you get your ad seen in another platform, for a longer period of time and your viewers will look at the ad because they are earning extra credits.

Video Tutorials I had recently put a couple of videos on the members page. It was a bit much for the page so I decided a better option would be to put them on their own page with a tab in the Navigation menu. I have added additional video tutorials including how to make splash pages and organizing your computer. My goal is to have videos that not only help the members use Ultimate Profit List but to teach them other online skills as well. As I get time, I will record more videos and add them.

Updated Footer with Links to Alexa and Safelist Rankings Rankings help determine a site’s popularity and visibility, and a site’s popularity and visibility help determine its rankings. In order to become ranked better, it helps to have Alexa reviews, links in to Ultimate Profit List from other sites, votes at Safelist Rankings and eventually, rankings at TrafficHoopla. So, please click on the Safelist Rankings and rank Ultimate Profit List. 10 is BEST! And if you would go to Alexa and write a short review of the site, that would really help us. Remember, the better we are the more members we get. The more members we have means more eyes on your ads. And isn’t that why you join sites like Ultimate Profit List?

News & Updates Another new feature in the Navigation menu is a tab for news and updates about Ultimate Profit List. By adding that tab and keeping the page updated with newsworthy information and updates about the site, members will have a central location for staying informed.

Adzly Ads Similar to Google Ads that you see on websites, you can put your own ads on Adzly for free. There are 3 membership levels at Adzly: Basic, Plus and Pro. Depending on your level, you can create ads, earn credits, create widgets to go on your sites, get stats for your ads, and even earn commissions. Adzly is owned by Logiscape Technologies, as is IMfaceplate.

I did a few cosmetic tweaks here and there, just me playing with the site. I think it looks pretty darn good! I hope you do too. And that about wraps it up for the new features at Ultimate Profit List. I hope to see you there!

Ultimate Profit List ~ A New Viral List Builder

Wow!  It has been a crazy month so far.

Ultimate Profit List launched on January 11, 2011 at 11:11 a.m. CST, as scheduled.  No hitches in our gitalong.  So it was grand.  We\’re not setting records yet, not number one in Traffic Hoopla yet.  That distinction goes to one of our valued members, Mr. Stefan Berg, owner of The Lead Magnet.

But we are growing quite nicely, we\’ve turned on the system mailer and solo ads.  The members seem to be very responsive.  They\’ve been submitting some great advertising.  And we\’ve been very blessed to have some top leaders in the industry supporting us and promoting Ultimate Profit List.  Thanks, Tony, Paul, Sherri, Lars, Brian, Brent, and many, many more.

It is our intention to improve, tweak, add to, and generally make Ultimate Profit List a fun, responsive, exciting place to advertise.  We\’ll always be working to make UPL better for our valued members.

My business partner, Lisa McCormick, had surgery on her left hand this past Friday.  Therefore, the weekend has been a bit challenging since I have been admin\’ing for both of us in addition to taking care of her.  Hopefully, she\’ll be back to her usual state of wellbeing in short order.

How To Build An Enormous List

Here we are approaching 2011, fast and furious!  And I know that many people are struggling with jobs that don’t pay, and hopes for an online business that haven’t quite materialized yet.  Since the money is in the list, or so we’ve been told… you need to know how to build an enormous list.

Do I have all the answers??  NOT BY A LONG SHOT!

But one thing I do know is that you have to keep working at it.  Traffic is king, you have to have eyes on your site before anyone will join you in anything.  After all, if they don\’t know what you\’re doing, how can they be a part of it?

So, what do you do?  You advertise.  Pique your prospects interest, offer them an incentive to give you their contact information.  Stay in contact through your autoresponder.  And you continue to advertise.  All the while, building your list.  Remember, you must provide value.

If you’re not sure how to do all this, please grab a copy of Ultimate List Building Tips.  It’s a free e-book that I wrote giving you step by step direction and the resources to help you build your list.  Grab a copy.

There are a lot of choices when it comes to advertising.  Text ad exchanges, safelists, list builders (much the same as safelists) and traffic exchanges.  I highly recommend that you advertise everywhere you can, layering your advertising is what I call it.  Branding yourself, making yourself visible and consistent.

I will be launching a new list builder in January along with my business partner, Lisa McCormick.  There are many list builders to choose from, and I believe that Ultimate Profit List will be a top contender on the list of "where to advertise".  We are adding some great value to our membership through bonuses.  I hope that you will be among our beloved membership!

To get the details, please subscribe to our pre-launch list.  Here’s a screenshot of the form:

Just click on the image above and you’ll be taken to the actual form. I’ll put you on the pre-launch list so you’ll get advance notice of launch info plus you’ll get a special promo code for extra advertising, if you’ll complete the form with your info. (See the use of an incentive at work??)

So, be ready to add Ultimate Profit List to your arsenal of great advertising resources, read the ebook mentioned above, Ultimate List Building Tips, and let’s make 2011 YOUR YEAR!

Blessings to all and Happy New Year!

Social Media – Is It A Fad?

As you are probably aware, unless your name is Rip VanWinkle, social media has taken over our lives. Previously, it was seeing website addresses on commercial vehicles or on TV commercials. MySpace, Facebook, Twitter… OMG!

Everyone who is anyone has a Twitter account. Even us “nobodies” have Twitter accounts. At last count, I have either four or five. Ashton Kutcher, Ellen DeGeneres, everyone Tweets.

So, is this just a fad? Are we in the middle of a major shift in communications?

Here’s a very interesting video. It may change your perception of this phenomenon we call social media. I am even using this technology to stay in the list building game. It works well. Now, here’s the video. I’d really welcome some comments letting me know what your thoughts are on the future of social media.

If you want to know more about how you can take advantage of social media to build your list, please let me know. I think it is very powerful and ‘spot on’ for today’s marketing. Take a look at this to see an application at work. Click Here To Check It Out

Traffic Wonderland Gots Widgets!

Did you know that Traffic Wonderland has widgets? I didn’t know that. No one EVER tells me anything!

I decided I needed to go to some traffic exchanges and assign credits. In the process of doing that at Traffic Wonderland, I added a couple of text links. There was a box with code and it mentioned widgets. Didn’t have a clue what it was all about, but there was a video tutorial. I’m really bad about not watching things like that, or reading instructions. I always just want to automatically KNOW how to do things, I don’t need no stinkin’ instruction video.

Anyway, in this case, I decided to watch the video and I’m really glad I did. All you do is add the code to the html part of your post and when your readers see it, they see the pretty little widgets like this:

Ultimate List Building Tips

and like this

Profitable Marketing System

The widget has your referral link to Traffic Wonderland built in. Anyone else using the widget is helping put your ad out and vice versa. Pretty sweet, I think.

If you’re a member of Traffic Wonderland, go grab your widget code and implant it somewhere on the net so we both can get some extra advertising.
If you’re not a Traffic Wonderland member, feel free to join with me. My link is in the widgets above!

Hope you enjoyed this little bit of information. I always love it when I find passive ways to advertise.

Are You A Member of ApSense.com?

Are you a member of ApSense.com?

I just wanted to give you a quick review about the site. ApSense is a great place to network, advertise, and build your list. I’ve been a member of ApSense for a while, unfortunately I have not used it to it’s fullest capacity. But it is my intention to rectify that going forward.

At ApSense.com, you are allowed to create a blog, show your favorite resources, and actually build an online presence. The cost of ApSense.com is free, or you can upgrade and take advantage of more features.

ApSense.com includes a desktop marketing system called iChannel. Some text ad exchanges include desktop advertising in their arsenal of services. By subscribing to their iChannel, you can receive ads delivered to your desktop rather than to your email inbox. It’s a great way to read ads, you earn credits just like you do when you go to the text ad exchange or to your email. I just started my own iChannel, ultimatelistbuilding

I am hoping that my blog posts will update there. I will probably have to learn a little more about doing that. But learning new things is something that I enjoy. Sometimes I find myself in a little trouble, as in when I was trying to change some information in the header of my other blog Ultimate List Building Tips. I couldn’t quite get a header to change correctly, so I had to ask for help. That’s okay, because now I learned how to fix it. Never be afraid to try something and if you need help, ask for it.

This concludes my review of ApSense.com. I hope that you will join my network there and also subscribe to my iChannel.

Traffic Exchanges, Text Ad Exchanges & Safelists

When you first start an online business, you are faced with advertising your affiliate site or website on the Internet. You have quite a few choices in that advertising effort. The three that I want to discuss today are traffic exchanges, known as TE’s, text ad exchanges or ad exchanges, known as TAE’s, and safelists. And if you don’t understand the differences and what they are, don’t feel alone. It is sometimes a challenge to know what’s what. The purpose of this article is to help you with descriptions and definitions.

Traffic exchanges are sites where you “surf”, viewing one ad after another. These involve a timer, anywhere from 5 seconds to 20 seconds, and then clicking on an appropriate matching symbol. Most traffic exchanges have themes with games, and the symbols are all icons that relate to the theme. Some sites simply have colored blocks and you click on the color that matches. Most sites offer free and upgraded memberships. Upgraded members are given extra credits or impressions to their sites as incentives to upgrade. And you’re often rewarded, as an upgraded member, to earn when others upgrade under your link. Some sites pay as much as 70% commission on upgrades. As a general rule, we never recommend upgrading at a site that pays less than 50% commission. Another key factor in using traffic exchanges is the surf ratio. Surf ratios are the ratio between how often you have to view a site to have your site shown. I love the ones where I get 3 credits for viewing one site. The other factor to consider is that surfers may only see your offer for 6 seconds. So, splash pages and/or capture pages are the only thing to put into traffic. No one is surfing on TE’s to buy something. They are all there for the same reason you are, to earn credits. So, don’t waste your time trying to sell. Traffic exchanges generally charge monthly fees although you will find special offers from time to time or the best bet is to take the OTO (one time offer) when you first join. The OTO is usually going to have the best pricing you’ll get.

Text ad exchanges are somewhat of a marriage between safelists and traffic exchanges. Many offer the ability to post ads in either plain text or html. Text links are short ads that are only about 26 characters long plus the URL of your site. Some text ad exchanges also have the capability to surf ads. Banner ads, text ads, login ads, start pages, header and/or footer ads all keep you in public view. There is so much advertising available on text ad exchanges that it’s hard to explain it all. In addition, most text ad exchanges offer free or upgraded memberships, with the upgraded memberships quite often being life-time upgrades.

Here is a video I did on posting Text Ads efficiently.

Safelists are exactly what the title implies. These are lists of people who have agreed to receive emails from (exchange ads with) members of the safelist. Therefore, they’re considered “safe”. SPAM complaints aren’t a problem because rarely does anyone complain. They’ve all double opted-in. Even if someone does complain, the mail is not coming from your server or email address. Safelists range in size from only a few hundred to tens of thousands. Ads can be sent in plain text or in html. Generally, safelists are not as flashy as their advertising counterparts, TE’s or TAE’s, but at this time, their effectiveness is unmatched. With safelists, you will use 2 email accounts. One is your “contact” email and the other is your “list” email. You’ll be receiving a ton of email and should be using Gmail. (Get a Gmail account here: http://www.gmail.com) In fact, most sites require that you use Gmail. Once you’ve joined a safelist, you will be required to confirm the accounts by clicking a link in both your contact and list emails before being allowed to do a mailing. Most advertisers use the credit based mailer to send out ads in safelists. This type ad requires the recipient to click a link in the ad in order to be awarded credits. The idea is that people will actually read the ads so they get the credits.

No matter which advertising source you are using…and you should use them all…you must use capture and/or splash pages leading to capture pages. The best way to create your own personalized splash/capture pages is using Instant Splash. This is a free resource but you will want the PRO upgrade. It’s phenomenal.

If you remember, somewhere in another post or two, I’ve commented on the importance of building your list. You need to capture the name and email address of the visitors to your site in order for them to be on your list. Once they are on your list, you can stay in contact with them. The opportunity that you are currently advertising might have a special offer that you want to announce. Maybe you’ve found a great resource for banners or a really responsive ad site. If you have a list, you are in the driver’s seat. You can share whatever you want with that list.

Brand yourself. Build your list. Believe in yourself and what you do.
